I have fallen for this Damask trend! At first, I thought, what IS that?! No longer can I deny that I love it! The damask in black can be paired with any colour and looks very classy. In particular, I like the black damask and white, or the black damask and a green. I think the green looks unique but still offers a classy feel to it.
Damask can be overdone though. I think all the stationary should match, and even the favour tags. However, if your menu is done in damask, and you have a damask tablecloth or dark tablecloth, and you have damask napkins, it gets to be an eyesore. Pick a few large damask items, or a several subtle ones.I think small unique touches are the way to go. Yes, we all love the damask aisle runner, and damask Chinese take out baskets, but how about damask shoes? I love these little girls booties. A damask hair comb? Damask ties? There are so many little details that people forget, and these are the ones that will make you wedding look unique.
I enjoy looking at weddingbycolor.com not only can you get an idea based on colour, but sometimes people are selling things and you can get an awesome deal! It’s also a really good idea to see what and how some people have created some new interesting things.
When I think (black & white) damask, I think glamorous! Long tight fitting gown, birdcage veil, and red lips! When I think of the pink & black damask, I think trendy hip, shorter wedding gown, no veil, pink accessories, and defiantly a candy buffet! Ok maybe I’m stereotyping due to colour, but it’s what I envision!
Easy ways to incorporate Damask?
